Before worship on Sunday mornings at 9:00-9:25a.m. we offer Sunday School Opener. This is a time for students to learn about the church, our lutheran heritage, scripture, and Jesus! Then, after the children’s sermon in worship, they will head to the Sunday School classroom for an age-appropriate message based on the readings in church!

At St. Timothy, having children in the service is important to us. Inviting them to experience the joy of communal worship and communion while also providing an opportunity for them to hear a meaningful message allows them to build a great relationship with worship and church.

Here’s the children’s schedule for the service:

• Sunday School Opener at 9:00-9:25a.m.

• Children join their families in worship beginning at 9:30a.m.

• After the Children’s sermon, our Sunday School teachers meet children at the front of the sanctuary and lead them to the Sunday School classroom.

• At this time, they will play games, sing songs, and hear an age-appropriate message based on the readings in church.

• Sunday School Teachers will return children to worship during the Offertory music so that they may commune with their families.

This ministry runs on volunteers.

There are prepared lessons and materials available each week.  You are encouraged to bring your talents to our ministry.  You can follow the provided classroom lesson, do a craft project, teach a song, read a story from our library or take the kids outside for a game. High school students and up may teach, 6th grade and up may assist.

If you are a parent who would like to be a part of your child’s faith journey by assisting in the Sunday School Classroom or a volunteer who would like to be a part of this awesome ministry, please contact Pastor Sarah Swindall
