Serve the World
Social ministry at St. Timothy encompasses a variety of service and outreach ministries, often in partnership with our community, national, and international organizations. In addition to ongoing partnerships with ELCA World Hunger and ELCA Disaster Response, St. Timothy members serve the world we live in through financial support and active participation in a number of ministries and missions.
If you have questions or if you are interested in volunteering and or serving as an individual or as part of a team, please contact our Service and Outreach coordinator, Kristina Sakaityte-Osowski at Social-Outreach@sttimothylutheran.com.
Mission Support

St. Timothy is also supporting a group of members and friends who will travel to Tanzania this summer to work with ELCA missionaries Dr. Steve and Bethany Friberg. Keep them in your prayers and check the newsletter for information about how you can support them.

Lutheran Outdoor Ministries Center, LOMC.ORG, is a ministry of the ELCA congregations in Illinois. Throughout the year, LOMC’s 600+ acres welcomes people of all ages for retreats and conferences in a beautiful area of the Rock River Valley of Northeastern Illinois. The following are available: tent camping, trailer hookups, cabins with bunks, and hotel style accommodations at Freedom Tree Village.
Since 2006 after hurricanes Katrina and Rita St. Timothy has participated in a residual disaster response organization organized through Lutheran Social Services of Minnesota called Camp Noah. In years past, members of St. Tim’s have donated funds, supplies for Kids Kits and Preparedness Backpacks, and made Safety Blankets for camp week. Some St. Timothy members have even been trained by LSSM / Camp Noah and have been part of a camp team to provide this therapeutic day camp to children grades PreK through 5th Grade who have been impacted by natural or man made disasters. If you are interested in learning more about Camp Noah and St.Timothy’s involvement with this ministry, please contact the church office.
Feeding the Hungry Beyond our Community
St. Timothy has been an active contributor to the organization Feed My Starving Children by participating in packing events. We also are one of the founding churches of “Feed the Need.”
Feed The Need! Naperville is an informal coalition of Naperville area churches, congregations, and civic organizations working together to sponsor an annual Feed My Starving Children Mobile Pack in Naperville. Feed The Need! Naperville was started by four Naperville Lutheran churches in 2011. These four churches in Naperville worked together organizing a yearly Mobile Pack event benefiting FMSC.
If you are interested in going to a FMSC permanent packing facility and volunteering to pack during a packing session, you can go to their website at www.fmsc.org and see where they need help.
Additionally in February there will be a combined effort Feed The Need – Mobile Pack event. Learn more about this opportunity to serve as part of St. Timothy, individually or your own group at http://feedtheneednaperville.org/
