Koinonia is Sharing or Fellowship
Konionia is like our English word kinship, it is relational and reflects sharing our selves our time and our possessions, including and especially our love and fellowship.
Koinonia is the spirit behind Jesus’ command to “feed my sheep and tend my lambs” (John 21:15-17).
Koinonia is the celebration or eucharist when Jesus takes bread and breaks it, and gives it to everyone; when he takes the cup, gives thanks and gives it for all to drink. (Matthew 26:26-28).
At St. Timothy there are many opportunities to share in fellowship whether it’s at a special event, coffee after worship or joining in one of the ongoing weekly / monthly small groups for youth, young and senior adults.

The following is an alphabetical list of Fellowship groups and events that are ongoing throughout the church year and offered on a regular basis (either weekly, monthly or bi-monthly).
Cub Scouts
Cub Scout Pack 562 is pleased to be able to offer the Cub Scout program to all boys and girls in grades K through 5. Meetings are held at Mill Street Elementary and St. Timothy’s Lutheran Church. All dens, grades K through 5, make up a “Pack.” Once a month the Pack and their families come together for a Pack Meeting at Mill Street (MPR – 2nd Monday @ 6:30PM), where Scouts may learn new skills, participate in an engaging activity, and be recognized for the adventures they have achieved at Den meetings. Contact Cubmaster Mark Coyle (ms.pack562.cubmaster@gmail.com, 773-398-9489) for more info. **If you are interested in “Boy Only” Pack 506, contact Cubmaster Steve Grosskopf at sgrosskopf@gmail.com for meeting dates and times.
Feast and Friends
Participants of Feast and Friends are divided into small groups of around 8 people based on categories such as shared interests. Those groups gather together for a meal and fellowship, either at a group member’s home or at a favorite restaurant, approximately once a month for a year. After the year is over, new groups are formed.
Fit for Life “Senior Friendly” Exercise Group
Fit 4 Life is a FREE group exercise class held on Mondays from 9:30am-10:30am in the Cornerstone. The class includes “senior friendly” videos with a variety of exercises. Chairs are available for seated and standing support. If you have any questions, please contact Jana Tindall, RN at tindalljana@gmail.com.
Hospitality
Our hospitality team ensures that there are greeters available before each service to welcome existing members and new visitors. They also help prepare for and clean up coffee supplies after services end. We also coordinate receptions and social time after services such as recent retirement and confirmation celebrations. This is a newer St. Timothy ministry and we’d love to have you on our committee! Contact Noelle Hannay-Waller (n.hannaywaller@gmail.com) if you have questions or would like to volunteer.
Library Committee
Our Library ministry provides books for adults, families, youth and children. These include Biblical resources, devotional books, faith enrichment, congregational ministries, fiction and a variety of books for youth and children. Our volunteers meet monthly at 9:30am on the 3rd Tuesday. We research, order and add new books, provide resources for the Sunday School, and arrange monthly displays to highlight books related to our congregational life or seasonal themes. If you haven’t done this already, please use our library and find a book you’d like to check out for yourself or your family. Contact Ruth LaCroix at ruthgram@gmail.com if you have questions or want more information!
