Mill Street Cares – A Call to Mission During National Crisis

Mill Street Cares – A Call to Mission During National Crisis

Mill Street Cares: Call to Mission—During the Corona crises children from needy families at Mill Street School need additional help, as our congregation provides during Christmas break and other times during the year. Starting immediately, bring food items and Jewel gifts cards with you to church. Food items needed are: spaghetti, pasta sauce, peanut butter, jelly, cereal, macaroni and cheese, canned vegetables and fruit.  Please place food items on the “Mill Street Cares” tables in the Narthex. Place gift cards and cash donations in the basket on the table or bring them to the church office.

Finally, we challenge you to be vigilant about protecting yourself and others from contagion, also to care for your neighbors and others in need, serving and praying for our nation and community to think rationally and act compassionately.

A prayer for these times:

O God, where hearts are fearful, grant courage and hope. Where anxiety is infectious, grant peace and assurance. Where distrust twists our thinking, grant healing and illumination. And where spirits are daunted and weakened, grant generous and willing hearts that we may care for others, living the love of Christ Jesus, our Lord. Amen.
