Why St. Timothy Lutheran Church?

St. Timothy Lutheran joyfully welcomes all people of any race, national origin, age, gender, ability, relationship status, political affiliation or sexual orientation, whether you are a believer, doubter or seeker. We welcome all because God welcomes all. Sharing and learning from our different experiences and ideas about life and faith, we live the love of Christ together.

What are the differences between the services?

During the school year we offer two worship services, one at 5 p.m. on Saturday evening and the other at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday morning. The 5 p.m. Saturday service is contemplative, full of song, and focuses on evening prayer. The 9:30 a.m. Sunday service incorporates all types of music from our chancel choir and organ to our band and instrumentalists. During the summer, we offer “Worship in the Woods”, an informal outdoor service at Burlington Woods Park Pavilion at 8 a.m. on Sunday mornings (weather permitting). Communion is offered each week at all services. All are welcome.

How should I dress?

All services are casual. Please be comfortable.  Some wear suits and others wear jeans.  God does not care what you wear.

I’m not Lutheran. Can I take communion?

At St. Timothy, all are welcome at the Lord’s table! Anyone of any denomination, whether they are a believer, seeker or doubter, are welcome to receive communion.

What about my kids?

Children are welcome at all worship services. The nursery is open and supervised by a paid staff member for infants and toddlers (ages 3 and under) during our 9:30am worship service. During the school year, children 4 years old through 5th grade join their parents in worship and then transition to Sunday School after the children’s sermon. The children then rejoin their families in worship during communion. There are numerous youth programs for all ages.  Check out the Youth menu for programs that fit for your children’s age groups.

What is St. Timothy doing about Covid-19?

It is the goal of St. Timothy to provide a safe environment for all to gather and worship.
